Sample Des Moines' Finest Food and Drink The Wine, Food and Beer Showcase, Des Moines Metro Opera's biggest annual fundraiser, is back from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown. More than 40 area restaurants, caterers, wineries, breweries and distilleries will be on hand for endless sampling. You also can take part in a silent auction and raffle. Lists of vendors plus items for the raffle and auction are available here. Tickets are $50 in advance; $60 at the door. For a more intimate setting, DMMO is offering its Reserve Experience, giving guests access to fine wines from members of the Wine Club. Wine is paired with high-end culinary creations from some top Des Moines eateries: Dore Bakery, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, and Table 128 Bistro + Bar. Tickets for the Reserve Experience are $150.

'Monochrome'
A new exhibition at Olson-Larsen Galleries features minimalist artwork created with few colors.
