Snag Americana's Weekend Prime Rib

Every Saturday and Sunday, Americana goes off-menu with 24-hour roasted sous vide prime rib, which the restaurant says goes well with a drink, such as Buffalo Trace bourbon. The special is available while supplies last, so place your order early.

Other enticing weekend offerings at Americana include the $9 burger special starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Or you can grab brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday.

Tom Scott Quintet

'Leaving Iowa'

Des Moines Community Playhouse is kicking off its spring season with a live premiere of "Leaving Iowa" at 7:30 p.m. today. You can watch in person at John Viars Theatre or at home via livestream. There are two more showtimes this weekend as well, at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and 2 p.m. Sunday. Learn more.
Blake Shaw Quintet

Bassist and composer Blake Shaw, who lives in Iowa City, will take the Noce stage with his quintet at 7 p.m. tomorrow for a night of smooth jazz. He'll be joined by vibraphone player Dave Hagedorn. Tickets are $30.
