Wear Your Ugly Sweater to Confluence Brewery

Confluence Brewing Co. is giving you another chance to break out the holiday sweaters. The south-of-downtown brewery is hosting an Ugly Sweater Last Call event at 5-8 p.m. tomorrow, featuring a live DJ and swag shop for some last-minute merchandise, art and clothing gift purchases. If you arrive donned in your best sweater, you'll receive $1 off Confluence beer.

Bozz Prints, a Des Moines apparel and merchandise store, and Flag of Des Moines, which prints the Des Moines city flag on all types of apparel, are providing products for the shop.

Home for the Holidays

Euforquestra, a band of Iowa natives who play a mix of funk and Afro-Caribbean music, will perform its annual Home for the Holidays show at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Wooly's. The show benefits the Food Bank of Iowa via proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales, a canned food drive and a silent auction. Tickets are $16-$21. Learn more



Iowa Wild

The Iowa Wild have two games on tap this weekend against the Grand Rapids Griffins. The contests start at 7 p.m. today and tomorrow at Wells Fargo Arena. Tomorrow's game is part of the Iowa Hockey Classic, which features games between two Des Moines high school hockey teams during the day.

Holiday Plays

Two holiday-themed shows are entering their final weekend on the stage. Iowa Stage Theatre's "A Christmas Carol" (pictured) has showtimes through Sunday at Stoner Theater. Des Moines Community Playhouse's
"A Christmas Story" runs through the weekend and into Monday.



Tonic Sol-fa

Tonic Sol-fa, an a capella quartet from Minnesota, is bringing its charming vocals to the Hoyt Sherman Place stage for two shows at 7:30 p.m. today and tomorrow. The performances are part of the group's "The Night Before Christmas" tour, showcasing holiday classics. Tickets are $37.50-$48.50.
