Adam and Sabrina Zenor and Tania and Brad Burt at last year's Iron Somm. Sommelier Showdown Winefest will pit two of Des Moines' best sommeliers against
each other in its annual Iron Somm event, 6 p.m. tonight at the Temple for Performing Arts Ballroom. Kelsey Seay with Best Case Wines will defend her crown against Rae Doyle of Park Street Kitchen.
The event features a five-course dinner with wine pairings from the two contestants.
Food will be prepared by chefs from Django, Splash Seafood Bar and Grill, Cater DSM, and Creme Cupcakes and Desserts, along with some tasty hors d'oeurves from the Cheese Bar. Tickets are $150 per person.

The Music of the Carpenters Singer and playwright Lisa Rock has created a tribute band dedicated to the music of the Carpenters. Performing classic hits like "We've Only Just Begun," "Rainy Days and Mondays" and "Close to You," Rock and her six-piece band strive to re-create the Carpenters' 1970s sound.
