Grab Food and Drinks at the Arts Festival Of course, artists and their works will be the stars of the show of the Des Moines Arts Festival this weekend, but when all that shopping has worked up an appetite, you can grab a few bites at restaurants around Western Gateway Park, including the following:
Proof: This modern upscale restaurant has been sharing culinary art on Facebook all week in anticipation of the festival. Located between the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park and Western Gateway Park, Proof will serve up food, beverages and to-go cocktails starting at 5 p.m. today and tomorrow.
Americana: Modern American food is the name of the game at this eatery on Locust Street across from the sculpture park. You can snag lunch and dinner, including specials like a burger and side for $9 after 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Ritual Cafe: If you need a little pick-me-up while enjoying the activities, this locally owned coffee shop on 13th Street offers drinks, breakfast and lunch sandwiches until 2 p.m. today and tomorrow.
