Proof's 'Second Saturday' Event Features Tomatoes On the second Saturday of each month, Proof, a downtown Des Moines modern Mediterranean-flavored restaurant, creates a 10-course blind tasting menu for two people based on a specific theme.
The theme for tomorrow's Second Saturday event is "A Study in Tomatoes." The cost is $132 per couple with a $55 option for wine pairing. Reservations must be made over the phone at 515-244-0655 or at the restaurant.
If you decide to stop by Proof on other days, you'll discover that the Mediterranean and global flavors come to the table in a sweep of styles — from a simple charcuterie plate to molecular-gastronomy-style creations. Also of note: sparkling views of the Des Moines skyline.
