Grab tacos and margaritas at tomorrow's Des Moines Taco Festival.

Join Saturday's Fiesta on Court Avenue

Vendors will serve tacos and other goodies on the Court Avenue bridge from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow for the first-ever Des Moines Taco Festival. You'll also find a margarita bar, live music and family activities. In addition, you can browse and buy merchandise from local shops.

General admission tickets are $10 plus fees. VIP admission, which includes a T-shirt, two tacos and two margaritas, is $49.99 plus fees.

National Balloon Classic

More than 100 hot air balloons will soar through the Central Iowa sky at the National Balloon Classic starting at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Memorial Balloon Field in Indianola. Jake Simon will play at tonight's opening celebration. The Balloon Classic runs through Aug. 7. Tickets are $10. Learn more
Iowa Cubs

The Iowa Cubs will play the Louisville Bats, the Triple-A team of the Cincinnati Reds, to finish up a four-game series this weekend at Principal Park. Game times are 7:08 p.m. today and tomorrow and 1:08 p.m. Sunday.

Max Wellman and his Big Band

Max Wellman and an 18-piece big band—led by composer and pianist Nate Sparks—will perform "Back in Business" at Hoyt Sherman Place at 8 p.m. today. The performers will focus on jazz and cabaret standards. "It will be a classic kind of big-band variety show … mixed with Broadway," Wellman says. Read our story about the show here. Learn more.


'The Bias Inside Us'

"The Bias Inside Us," a traveling exhibition currently at the Science Center of Iowa, explores implicit bias and how it affects you and others. The exhibit is on display this weekend and through Aug. 8. The Science Center is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today, tomorrow and Sunday. Learn more.
