Confluence Brewing Company will have live music, food and beer all weekend on its outdoor patio. Spend the Long Weekend on a Patio
Not that you needed an excuse
to drink outside this weekend, but Confluence Brewing Co. is offering one with its Labor Day Weekend Patio Fest, which kicks off at 4 p.m. this afternoon and wraps up Monday evening. Food trucks, live music
and beer will be featured during the four-day event on Confluence's backyard beer garden.
Live music acts include Brother Trucker (4-6:30 tonight), Ryne Doughty (1-3:30 p.m. tomorrow) and Deliberate Kin (1-3:30 p.m. Sunday). The Flame (Friday), Waab's Piggin' Out (Saturday) and Caribbean Kitchen (Sunday) will provide food. On Labor Day, Confluence's taproom will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a deal for $2 off four packs and bottles to go.

Iowa Classic Celebrating the last live thoroughbred horse races of the 2019 season, Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack and Hotel will host the Iowa Classic with only Iowa-bred horses competing. The races begin at 4 p.m. Monday. After the event, enjoy live music from local band the Sheet. Learn more

Medieval vikings

Meals from the Heartland is hosting its 12th annual Hunger Fight, where thousands of people come together over a four-day period to
package millions of meals to feed hungry people in Iowa and beyond. The event started Wednesday and runs through tomorrow at Hy-Vee Hall at the Iowa Events Center. You can sign up as a volunteer on the event website. Learn more

The Water Lantern Festival gives family and friends a chance to "celebrate life together," according to the
