The aroma of freshly cooked barbecue will fill the air at Brenton Skating Plaza Sunday. Barbecue Spots Converge for Charity Event
This is a barbecue lover's dream: Smoke Out Hunger, a charity event benefiting Food Bank of Iowa, will bring together some of the city's favorite barbecue joints from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Brenton Skating Plaza. Participants include Bubba—Southern Comforts, Teddy Maroon's, Zombie Burger + Shake Lab, Jethro's BBQ, Lola's
Fine Hot Sauce and others.
Barbecue samplings paired with craft beers and wine cost nothing beyond the admission price, which is $45 for adults 21 and up. Teenagers and children have reduced ticket prices, and kids under 5 get in free. Music will be performed by the New Mexicos, and lawn games will be available.
