Grab Brunch All Day at St. Kilda
If you want to skip the morning rush but still grab brunch this weekend, St. Kilda Cafe and Bakery offers its menu all day long. Located downtown at 300 S.W. Fifth St., the Australian-style eatery is known for its fresh and creative fare.
Two of St. Kilda's most popular brunch items are breakfast tacos (flour tortilla, potato hash, avocado, scrambled eggs, queso and pico de gallo) and the Saint breakfast sandwich (fried egg, housemade ginger sausage, bacon, avocado, red onion, arugula and tomato jam on a sesame seed bun). Studios is bringing back its popular First Friday event at 5 p.m. today. Themed "Art of Our Time," the event will showcase and sell artwork addressing today's issues, such as the pandemic and social justice. A reserved, timed ticket as well as masks are required to attend. Social distancing will be implemented.

Improv Showcase at TeeHee's
TeeHee's Comedy Club is continuing its weekly slate of shows this weekend. Starting at 8 p.m. tomorrow, the performance, named "Best of Both Worlds," is advertised as "part improv showcase, part stand-up feature." Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. The Des Moines Renaissance Faire is moving ahead this weekend with some adjustments due to COVID-19. In a new location near Saylorville, the festival has implemented extended hours, limited staff engagement and social distancing. Masks are encouraged. Hours are 4:30–8:30 p.m. today, 10:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
