Help Baru 66 Celebrate With a Special Meal

One of Des Moines' favorite French eateries, Baru 66, has a big reason to be excited. The restaurant's founder and chef, David Baruthio, was inducted into the Maitres Cuisiniers de France, an exclusive list of top-notch, French-born chefs, on June 18 in New York City.

To commemorate the event, Baru 66 is offering a special four-course, flavor-of-the-season menu from June 28 to July 14. The price is $55 and includes an aperitif.

It's no surprise Baruthio earned the honor. A native of Alsace, France, he has cooked all over the world, from Belgium to Mongolia, with stops in Beverly Hills, Canada and the U.K. along the way. While Baru 66's cutting-edge French menu offers a few straightforward presentations, this is the place to order playful, multi-ingredient dishes. Each original dish brings an unmistakably French combination of indulgence and exactitude.
